You Are Consuming More Calories Than You Think, And It’s Not Your Fault

The more I learn about the food industry, the more frustrated I get.

If you eat at restaurants that advertise their nutritional information, you are (most likely) consuming way more calories, fat, sugar, and salt than you think, and it isn’t your fault.

Chain restaurants report their nutritional info to assist customers in choosing healthier meals and must adhere to tight regulations on the display of nutrition data.

Chain restaurants didn't decide to report their food info, they have to. It’s up to the restaurant to report their OWN nutritional details. This is like expecting the mob to run a fair casino.

The point of nutritional info is to help people make healthy decisions since high calorie, sugar, salt, and fat content can deter consumers. So what do you think the food industry will do? These companies do not make decisions based on the health of their customers, they make decisions based on their bottom line.

The actual calorie count of a meal can differ by 200 percent from the number on the menu. Restaurants almost always underestimate the amount because their estimations rely on non-automated processes and portion sizes vary greatly.

Most of these companies do not give a crap about your health. They systematically underestimate the nutritional content of dishes and manipulate the labeling to make products seem healthier.

So the next time you eat at Chipotle (or Outback, Chili’s, etc.) double whatever numbers they give you for nutrition info.

If you want to lose weight, eating out is not the best route to take. Restaurants, first, want their food to taste good, not be healthy.

You can only rely on yourself and people with your best interest in mind when it comes to your health.

Eating out is inevitable and making healthy choices is difficult at restaurants. If you make good decisions most of the time, you won’t have to worry about the food industry’s lies.

TFT Transform focuses on eating whole, unprocessed foods that tastes good and helps you lose weight. Check out the program details here.
