Top 5 Weight Loss Mistakes Not Involving Diet or Exercise

Weight loss is tough, but you don’t have to make it harder than it already is.

We’ve seen hundreds of successes and failures through the years.

From this experience, we’ve identified many reasons why people fail at weight loss.

Here are the top 5:

1.You’re not sticking to anything  

You have to give whatever you are doing the time it needs to get a result.  We’ve seen people switch strategies way too often.  If something doesn't work right away, they chase the next new thing.  Make a choice, and give it time.  Probably more time than you think.

2.You don’t understand that you have to make some sort of lifestyle change

Look, you can’t get to a new place by doing the same things you’ve always done.  Accept that you have to make a change, whether it’s starting a new exercise routine or changing some eating habits.  Your body won’t change unless you make some changes…period.

3.You try extreme tactics that are difficult and not sustainable, so you quit when they don't work

Too many times we’ve seen members at TFT try xyz diet or cleanse and not be able to execute, so they give up on weight loss.  You have to establish some baseline healthy habits that are easy enough that you can actually do them.  Once you start stacking these habits on top of each other, you’ll get the results you want. 

 

4.Thinking that if you fall off the wagon, you can’t get back on

Progress, especially with weight loss, isn’t linear.  In order to lose weight, you have to break some habits that are deeply ingrained in you.  It’s unrealistic to think you are going to magically get rid of bad habits.  Slip-ups are not the end of the world, but you can’t let them be the reason you stop trying. 

5. You don’t have any support

You need people that are on the same page as you like workout partners, trainers, coaches, and mentors.  You’re going to need help from anywhere you can get it.
