Health Is WealthHey, it's Gary,
Did you know the first French Fries weren't started in France??..................They were started in GREECE!!!! LOL Ok, enough Dad jokes, here's my blog post of the week: In the 10+ years TFT has been in existence, we keep learning and evolving to better serve our members health and fitness needs. One of the “shifts” we made over these last few years with great results is to emphasize health first, over looks. The majority of people who start exercising do it for aesthetic reasons - i.e. to lose weight, get a flat stomach, build muscle, etc........ And, usually when those things don’t happen fast enough, many give up or go on very restrictive diets or “extreme” workouts which rarely, if ever, work long-term What DOES work(for years, not just a few weeks/months), we’ve found, is if you think of exercise not in terms of your appearance, but what it can do inside your body. There are numerous studies that show regular physical activity helps reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, cancers, depression, and injury from falls. It also improves sleep, mood and our immune system, super important during these times! Exercise isn't 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 about looks, it is vital to our overall health and well-being. If you focus on exercising to improve your health first, EVERYTHING else will fall into place! If you want to experience all the benefits of TFT, contact us for your 𝟐 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥!

Vitamin "D"efense
The COVID 19 pandemic has magnified many things that need fixing in our society. The one gigantic aspect of our lives that needs improvement, that isn't talked about enough, is our health. Being healthy and having a strong and properly functioning immune system is your best weapon against getting sick. Exercising and a diet that is rich with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables is an excellent way to keep yourself healthy. But, there are some things you don't get from exercise and food alone.
According to a pub med study (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3356951) vitamin D is extremely beneficial for your health because of its immune-boosting capabilities amongst many other benefits including defenses to cancer, heart disease, hypertension, obesity, muscle fatigue, diabetes, depression, and cognitive impairment. Now that is a lot of amazing things that vitamin D can do for the quality of our lives! According to another study (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7360122/), vitamin D deficiency "may have increased susceptibility to complications and mortality due to COVID-19 infection.” So if vitamin D is so advantageous to our health, and may help ward off and lessen the severity COVID-19, what is the best way for you to benefit from it? We normally get our vitamin D from sunlight exposure. However, if you are wearing sunblock, vitamin D production is also blocked. And today, most of us don’t get outside nearly enough to get all of the vitamin D we need. In fact, the vast majority of us are vitamin D deficient. So if we can't harness the health benefits of the sun regularly, we need to supplement it. There is a crapload of vitamin D supplements on the market, but not all are created equal. Most vitamin D products are made from a synthesized version of the vitamin, which is as far removed from the natural source as can be. There are, however, vitamin D supplements made from mushrooms, which are a natural source of the vitamin. There are quite a few vitamin D supplements on the market that use mushrooms, but this is the one I have been using lately:
While I am not an expert on this subject, I have taken the time to educate myself and pick what I think is a solid and safe choice for my vitamin D supplement.
Supplementing vitamin D is an easy way to immediately improve your health at a low cost with virtually no adverse effects. I aim to help people get and stay healthy and feeding your body the proper amount of vitamin D is vital to achieving it. Please, do yourself a favor and make sure you are getting enough vitamin D. |
